Thanks for stopping by my site even if by accident. :-) (pedi-ped post). I just recently learned how wonderful tea tree oil can be. It is also used for nail fungus too. My mom told me about it. We both have one toe that we inured the nail on and developed nail fungus. You add tea tree oil to some warm water and soak you foot in it every day so a very slow improvement but at least it’s an improvement. I never did anything about it because the medicines they have for it can cause serious side-effects. I have started this regiment though and as a mother of a couple teens this post is good to know. :-)

Wow, I’ve never heard of Tea Tree Oil. Do you know where you can buy it?

You can find it at natural food stores. It’s also an ingredient in many natural skin care products. Desert Essence is a brand that specializes in tea tree oil products.

Hello Valerie, I must say I really like your site and appreciate reading through your informative articles. I agree that Tea Tree Oil works astonishingly well on all stages of pimples – I seldom break out anymore. Please be very careful if you have cats as it’s very poisonous for them.

I’ve had a nasty breakout right before my period. My face was a mass of red blotches and bumps and I was so disheartened by this. But a friend of mine gave me a bottle of pure extract tea tree oil and recommended that I dilute it on a cotton round with water, and then use it twice a day. I’ve only been using it three days, and most of the acne dried our, without it actually drying my skin. Marvelous, marvelous! I was wondering if it’s just a one time thing though, or should I indefinitely incorporate it to my cleansing regimen? Are there any side effects for using it at a prolonged time? Or should I only use it if I have acne?

I know the feeling of being embarrassed by acne. I have also struggled with my skin for year.s the best thing is to de-stress your life and eat fruits and vegetables. life is too short to let it control you. don’t miss out

    Hi,

I have tried everything to get rid of this stupid breakout on my back. It kept getting better and then worse and it went from my back to my butt. I tried benzoyl peroxide in both the bar soap and the liquid form and attempted oatmeal baths and so on. All I ended up with with intensely irritated red skin from the benzoyl and the pimples remained! At first, I was concerned and asked a doctor because what if it was some huge issue! After figuring out it wasn’t some odd infection, and my doctor said it was most likely because of low testosterone, I left things alone. However, this didn’t really work for me at all.

I finally became fed up and went out and purchased vitamin a, vitamin e and tea tree oil from CVS and Walgreens! Alast the damned things are finally drying up and the rest of my skin isn’t burning off!

I for one am going to start switching everything over to natural sources because the man made crap just doesn’t work ( Obviously)

I had perfect skin till the age of 23 then pimple on my face, they would hurt, I had like 50 on the side of my face…
My acne was considered mild though. After trying accutane and a few other type of oral medication, I decided natural was a way to try. I mix tea tree oil with my face cream, everyday , twice a day. Its been 6 months and no breakout !And now ill get one or two around my menstrual cycle…. ;) so happy… Try it for a few months

I never had acne as a teenager then at the age of 27 I developed cystic acne. I am now 33 and I am till dealing with this horrible problem. They are VERY large red almost black bumps on my face. Some have been so bad that my entire side of my face will become swollen from a cyst. I have tried everything the dermatologist has put me on (antiboiotics, creams, steroids, water pills) nothing helps. I am at the point that I no longer want to leave my house. Does anyone know if the tea tree oil will work with a condition this severe?

I believe it will help. You can also use queen helene mint julep mask twice a week or use it as an overnight spot treatment on your cystic acne. Tea tree oil has helped my scars big time…everyday now for a week and my scars have reduced in appearance dramatically. I apply it with a qtip on my scars instead of applying it on my entire face with a cottonball because of the smell. But these two produts should help…also use st. Ives apricot scrub at night. This helps clear up breakouts!

How much water to tea tree oil is a good solution?

Tea tree oil soap, like Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap, has worked really good on my body acne. I think I will try using it on my face now too since it seems to be working. I have also reduced the dairy in my diet and noticed less cysts/zits now too. I have had acne ever since I got pregnant with my first baby about 10 years ago. During each pregnancy, my acne was horrific though. I am going on 40 and so sick and tired of having to deal with this. I don’t want birth control because my hub has had a vasectomy and my blood pressure was too high in the past. I hope the tea tree oil and anti-dairy is the way to go!

My son aged 17 has always had perfectly clear smooth skin until recently. I have been searching the web for an answer. I think he might have a dermodex mite infestation,. Apparently tea tree oil can help . We will give it a go.

Has anyone else discover ed their acne is caused by dermodex mites?

I use 100% pure tea tree oil, undiluted, on my face and scalp. It is incredibly gentile, just the natural plant oil. Of course, if you are allergic as someone suggested in the commentary, you shouldn’t be using it at all, diluted or not.

The smell is very strong but you get used to it. I put it on my face to cure acne type blemishes that persisted for months, maybe a year, on my face. One week using tea tree oil and the blemishes are gone.

I used to use head and shoulders to prevent dandruff and dry, itchy scalp. Now I use tea tree oil. When I apply it, the relief is immediate. I rub a few drops of the oil into my scalp every other night, then wash my hair as usual in the morning. That way the smell doesn’t flow me around during the day. I rub it on my face every other night as well.

I bought my tea tree oil at Walmart. It can be purchased at any drug store, and even some grocery stores such as Trader Joes or Whole Foods Market. Make sure you get the real thing, not a gel or cream that merely has some of the oil in it.

I use tea tree oil, and it has a really bad odor, i’m fine with using it at night, but i don’t like going to school with it on because it makes my face smell weird, and i know that your supposed to do it two times a day, so what should i do?

  20. Kevin May 8, 2013 at 3:06 am - Reply

If you’re not a fan of the smell of tea tree oil you could always try using a moisturizer during the day. I know body shop has a tea tree oil line that you could look into.

Personally I don’t mind the smell of tea tree oil, but I still don’t leave the house with it on. I’ve been using apple cider vinegar as a toner (which has really cleared up my skin/made it smoother) and just recently have I incorporated some tea tree oil into it. Seems promising.
